Why is it Wise to Have an SLA for a Lease Line?

With businesses being so reliant on the internet, it is vital that this is reliable.

There are several Internet products that are available with an SLA.

What is an SLA?

An SLA (Service Level Agreement) gives the customer a guaranteed response and fix time for that product.

What about internet Products that don’t come with an SLA?

Internet access through a BT line and known as ADSL or FTTC, that cost around £30 per month, do not come with an SLA. Hence, it is to the discretion of the internet provider on how long it will take to have your service back online.

For businesses with a high number of users or where internet access is mission critical then these products are not suitable.

What about internet that traditionally comes with an SLA?

Internet products that come with an SLA are Fibre Optic Leased Lines, Wireless Leased Lines, ETFM and EoFTTC. These products come with an SLA of up to 7 hours fix time, depending on the product.

Typically, the more expensive the product, the better the level of SLA. These products start at around £150 per month.
